These duet improvisations were made by file sharing between California and Spain. They could be viewed/heard as pieces made by reacting to an audible graphic score maybe? Mike sent his improvisation to Jon and he reacted to / or interpreted what he heard and returned his files to mix with Mike's guitar files. Mike's pieces were recorded in various locations, mostly hotel rooms when on tour and even outdoors on a couple of pieces with a Zoom H2 portable recorder. Jon's pieces were recorded at his home studio.

Jon plays Baritone Saxophone and voice. Mike plays a Yamaha acoustic travel guitar.

Mike writes - "I have long been a fan of the Rova Saxophone Quartet and was pleasantly surprised when playing at a folk club (?) in London a couple of years ago to look up and see Jon sitting in the audience. He was in London on holiday and happened to see my name in a listing and bothered to find the gig. Not an easy task as I had trouble myself. We have since met similarly on a couple of occasions in different cities but have never played live together and so to meet virtually like this is a great pleasure."

Jon writes - "since being in the same place at the same time long enough to play together wasn't working out when Mike suggested I work with Duck Baker remotely I replied that we should try it out first. I had played around with layered improvisations with my Jon Raskin Quartet and liked the form of considered tracks to consider what to do."
